There's not much mankind can't accomplish given the proper motivation and enough time but even so some things are better left alone. Some things lie in the hands of God and rightfully so. This lesson was becoming painfully clear to Alan. Because of his meddling, things had gone too far and the likely outcome was death; but for whom? Does he have the right to choose? His time machine allowed him to see the future. If he steps in and changes what was destined to happen, what else would change with it? The beginning of the end was a little more than a year ago; or was it just a few minutes? The present and past no longer had boundaries and it was easy to become confused. If only he'd left things alone this one time. Some things are better left alone.
