. It’s two days before Christmas and Granny Weave wants to host a knitting circle party, especially since Ella and Zach came home from East Otto, New York for a visit. But her dear friends at the circle see Ella is depressed and her marriage unraveling. The women pull together for Maryann, too, since her husband is preparing for bypass surgery. Sarah’s son wants to call his Englisher friends in Ohio to come pick him up, leaving the Amish for good. Sarah turns to Jonas for consolation, realizing she loves with this dear man, but does he feel the same? What do the women glean from the old hymn Joy to the World? And what is real joy? The women find out. Smicksburg Tales is a continuing short story serial which started in 2011 and is still in full swing. After 8 episodes are written they are combined into 300+ page novels. If you like the "old-fashioned serials" as many readers do, look for the books in episodes.
