About the BookGlobalization has a multi-dimensional impact on the system of education which is an important investment in building human capital that is driver for technological innovations, and economic development. About the Author Dr. Pawan Sikka (b.1944) received MSc, PhD and DSc Degrees in Physics, and held British Council fellowship, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, besides the award of scholarships for studying the new and frontier areas of Science and Technology, in Italy, Switzerland and Germany. He is a former Scientist G/ Adviser, Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi and has held various technical assignments during the three decades of his dynamic years 1974-2004. He has delivered special lectures on the management of science policy related issues, at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is a life-member of different scientific societies, namely, Materials Research Society of India, Semi-Conductor Society of India, Association of British Scholars, Oxford and Cambridge Society of India. His other book, entitled: Education for All, Human Resource Development in India, National Policy and Planning for the Education Sector, has been well received by the academic world. His technical contributions have appeared in journals of national and international repute. He is widely traveled in India and abroad in pursuit, as well as dissemination of knowledge.
