Els autors volen contribuir a la reflexió pública sobre les causes i les conseqüències del conflicte en els ciutadans valencians i en les relacions entre el País Valencià i Espanya. Un territori i una societat de cinc milions de persones com la nostra, amb problemes estructurals importants, requereix que les ciències socials i les humanitats, però també altres ciències i disciplines fisiconaturals, la tinguen com a objecte d’estudi. Potser el millor retorn que podem fer a la gent que s’ha esforçat perquè tinguéssem una educació i una posició determinada és estudiar el seu passat i el seu present o, millor dit, no oblidar-nos d’ells i tenir cura del que els passa. Aquest volum traça una trajectòria d’anàlisi de la identitat valenciana que comença descrivint l’evolució històrica de la identitat col·lectiva dels valencians, tot passant per les diferents definicions nacionals del País Valencià, tant de la base com de les elits, i acaba en la situació sociolingüística, tant pel que fa a les ideologies que han dificultat la transmissió del valencià com a la que ha tractat de trencar la seua unitat per afavorir l’hegemonia del castellà. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. It held my attention, even if a few things were a little predictable. A solid 4 stars from me.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

It was just alright. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.
