Overview: Ya desde una fecha tan temprana como 1961, los situacionistas disciernen los primeros signos del vasto movimiento de contestación total que algunos años después iba a sobrecoger a las sociedades industriales más desarrolladas. Tras décadas de humanismo e ilustración pseudo-revolucionarios, los situacionistas serían los primeros en situar la causa de la revolución social única y exclusivamente en la experiencia vivida, en la dimensión concreta de la vida. Si la revolución tiene alguna posibilidad, ésta pasa por su relación con la vida cotidiana. La política debe dejar paso a una revolución permanente generalizada en todos los aspectos de la existencia: las viejas nociones de pobreza y riqueza, fundamentadas exclusivamente en el proceso económico, deberán sustituirse por un concepto nuevo que haga referencia a la plenitud y a la satisfacción del deseo. Las energías de la nueva revolución provienen del rechazo del aburrimiento y de la insignificancia en que la inmensa mayoría de la gente se ve obligada a vivir. La "historia crítica" de Mario Perniola, redactada en 1972, restaura la dimensión procesual y colectiva de la aventura situacionista, atendiendo sobre todo a los 12 números de la revista como su obra concreta principal y sin eludir los claroscuros y los problemas de la experiencia (sectarismo, organización, relación teoría-práctica, hiperfuturismo situacionista, etc.). Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. A solid 5/5 for me.
