Overview: "The current weather forecast indicates that tomorrow will be the day for which the Allied high command has been waiting ever since the German counter-offensive began eight days ago – a day that will permit maximum employment of our air power." These words marked the beginning of what was to be the largest mission flown by the Eighth Air Force.On 24th December 1944, over a week since the beginning of what now is commonly known as “The Battle of The Bulge”, over 2,000 heavy bombers took to the skies to attack several targets in Germany. Although the mission was not as infamous as others flown by the Eighth Air Force, it did had all the challenges and drama in it. From bad weather to technical issues, the loss of a General and accidental releases, it all happened and more. Starting on 23rd December with the process of planning the mission to well after the arrival of the bombers back on base. Based on the actual mission reports, this book describes in detail how this mission was planned and executed.

A solid read. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

It was just alright. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.
