Overview: Het flatgebouw waarin Sandra met haar moeder en halfzusje woont, kijkt uit op het industriegebied en op andere, identieke flats. De wijk groeit dicht met Turkse gastarbeiders en andere immigranten. De oorspronkelijke wijkenaren zijn het meer en meer zat en beginnen zich te verzetten tegen de verloedering van hun buurt.Na de basisschool moet Sandra van haar moeder naar het zelfstandig gymnasium in het dorp. Ze wil niet. Het ‘gennasium’, zoals de school in de wijk wordt genoemd, is voor kakkers. It was just alright. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. A generous 3 stars.

Really enjoyed this one. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
