Overview: Elvin Post heeft twee thrillers op zijn naam staan (voor Groene vrijdag kreeg hij in 2004 de Gouden Strop), maar hier vertelt hij bijna zakelijk hoe het 17e (!) elftal van het Rotterdamse voc twee opeenvolgende seizoenen is doorgekomen. De resultaten zijn erg wisselend en waar het eerste seizoen bekroond wordt met een kampioenstitel, moet het team zich bijzonder schrap zetten om niet te degraderen tijdens het tweede seizoen...Dit relaas verscheen als een reeks columns in ADSportwereld, de sportkatern van het Nederlandse 'Algemeen Dagblad'. De schrijver speelt mee - als gesjeesde spits van het eerste elftal - en geeft commentaar bij wat er tijdens de wedstrijden gebeurt. Hij laat je ook de kritische en/of aanmoedigende visie horen van zijn vrouw en dochtertje. Bovendien worden de (wan)prestaties van het team tijdens het tweede seizoen nog eens extra belicht door een heuse sportanalist, wat een leuke vondst is van de schrijver. Glad someone recommended this to me. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Worth the time and money.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.
