Overview: Živimo u svijetu u kojem djeca umiru od gladi, u kojem milijarde ljudi žive na granici ili ispod granice siromaštva, u kojem ljudi obolijevaju i umiru od izlječivih bolesti, u kojem još uvijek gore genocidni ratovi, čini se nasilje prema manjinama, rodnim, spolnim, vjerskim, nacionalnim, itd. Istovremeno živimo u svijetu neviđenih tehnoloških, transportnih, informacijskih i drugih mogućnosti. Živimo u vremenu kad je moguće intervenirati u genetski sklop ili u samu strukturu života. Živimo u svijetu obilja, neshvatljivih materijalnih mogućnosti i velike raskoši. Živimo li dakle u dva svijeta? Ne treba posebno dokazivati prisutnost i značaj »ekoloških« tema u našim životima. Ove su stranice napisane s namjerom da se pronikne u korijenje tih pojava i eventualno da se dohvati odgovor na pitanje: zašto je tomu tako? Zašto čovjek tako nasilno djeluje prema životu?Fenomen destrukcije, koji se sve jasnije očitava kao neposredna prijetnja postojanju samog čovjeka, upravo je uzrokovan čovjekovom težnjom za postizanjem sigurnijeg i udobnijeg života. Ovo nas upućuje na sljedeći zaključak: ukoliko je težnja za sigurnošću uništavajuća, vrijeme je da se promotri platforma na kojoj je ona nastala i da se pokuša izgraditi novi temelj za djelovanje koje neće imati uništavajući učinak. Ovo je moguće jedino ako se u mišljenju uzme u obzir obuhvatniji koncept života od onog čovjekovog. Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Will be looking for more from this author.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
