Overview: LEE ANN B. MARINO was not expecting anything extraordinary about her ministry call. Already having a bit of a reputation as a radical due to her vehemently unpopular views about women, working with the lesbian-gay-bisexual-and transgender community and their families was simply not in her plan. Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, this was easy to do, because it was still not an issue that many people discussed in church. This was right up until, coinciding around the time that LGBT issues became front and center in society, Dr. Marino confronted the issue of caring about someone who was gay head on - and how that relationship changed her entire life. It was just alright. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Just right down the middle.

Really enjoyed this one. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Will be looking for more from this author.

Glad someone recommended this to me. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. A solid 5/5 for me.

Finished it in a couple of days. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Would probably read it again at some point.
