Overview: Written as a doctoral dissertation during a period when the nature of the Sacrament of the Altar was being aruged in ecumenical discussions, especially in relation to the Reformed churches, this edition of The Venerable and Adorable Eucharist is the English translation of a work previously published in Swedish and German. Written by Rev. Dr. Tom G.A. Hardt (1934-1998), a Swedish theologian who was instrumental in founding the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sweden, The Venerable and Adorable Eucharist consists of seven well-documented chapters on the exegetical basis for the doctrine, the nature of the real presence in its relation to the person of Christ, and the problems of transubstantiation, consubstantiation, and the sacramental union.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Enjoyable weekend read.

It was okay. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. A solid 4 stars from me.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.
