Overview: " Shortage, Glut, or Enough?" is a volume in the "Information Plus Reference Series." The United States is the world’s largest consumer of energy in all its forms. This book presents the latest information on America’s energy consumption and production, compared with years past. Controversial issues such as America’s dependence on foreign oil; the possibility of exhausting fossil fuel supplies; and the harm done to the environment by mining, drilling, and pollution are explored. The book consists of ten chapters and three appendixes. Each of the major elements of the U.S. energy system - such as coal, nuclear power, renewable energy sources, and electricity generation - has a chapter devoted to it. For a summary of the information covered in each chapter, synopses are provided in the Table of Contents at the front of the book.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Pretty good overall. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. A solid 4 stars from me.

Glad someone recommended this to me. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Glad I picked this up.
