Discover College Prep Guidebook: How to Ace High School, Excel on the ACT, and Thrive at the College of Your Choice by Charles A. Lewis. Start reading today and explore ideas, insights, and experiences that stay with you.

Overview: Getting accepted into a top college has become more competitive and demanding. It is not like it used to be, when over half of Ivy League applicants got in. Many universities now accept less than one in 10 applicants. The pressure is on for many, but high school and college should be a positive experience - not one filled with stress. The College Prep Guidebook provides expert advice to high school students to win acceptance to top universities and achieving success in college more effectively, while enjoying it. It provides strategies and secrets for raising the student’s GPA and placement tests scores and increasing the chances for landing a spot in a great university, while having fun in high school. This book helps students avoid ineffective routes, filled with drudgery and wasted effort, and reveals simple steps to facilitate the achievement their educational objectives. It provides a guide, mapping out safer routes to success so students can thrive and delight in the educational experience. College is has become so expensive that many families assume it is out of reach. This book explains how to get college paid for, and how bright students from middle and lower income families can get most if not their entire college education paid for. It reveals how lower income students can have the ACT and SAT test fees and college applications fees waived. It reveals how many students can receive a “free ride,” full tuition, books, and housing at the most prestigious universities, and when it may be less costly to attend a private college than a public one. It discusses the various sources of funding for a student’s education, and which ones they might best avoid.Among of the secrets provided are: •How to study more efficiently, learning more while expending less time and effort. •Which test (the SAT or ACT) students depending on their personal strengths and background, should focus on for the best results. •Placement test tips and strategies, and traps and pitfalls to avoid. •Strategies for achieving superior placement test scores. •How to earn a higher grade point average with minimal extra work. •How to develop and demonstrate the leadership qualities that top colleges seek out. •How to prepare college applications that get the desired results. •How to compose an outstanding college application essay. •How you can, even with the same GPA and placement cores, dramatically multiply your chances gaining acceptance into an elite university. •How students from middle and low income families can get their college education paid for at private universities. •How to gain the benefits of an Ivy League college education while attending a public university. •Advice on the most and least favorable ways for having military service pay for college. •Advice on which sports scholarships are most advantageous. •Advice on selecting among colleges, which will serve the student best. •Mentoring on how to avoid common pitfalls that doom many college students. •How to succeed and have fun at the same time. The College Prep Guidebook provides exclusive access to supplemental college placement test practice materials and links for applying for college and financial aid.

I have mixed feelings about this one. It felt a bit repetitive in the middle. Could have been shorter. Just right down the middle.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
