Overview: Türkçenin en gelişmiş ve en güvenilir sözlüğünün on birinci baskısı, Güncel Türkçe Sözlük ve Yazım Kılavuzu Çalışma Grubu üyelerinin ve Türk Dil Kurumu uzmanlarının yanı sıra çeşitli bilim dallarındaki terim çalışma gruplarında yer alan üyelerimizin, e-postalarıyla görüşlerini, önerilerini, eleştirilerini bizlere bildiren kullanıcılarımızın çabalarıyla, çalışmalarıyla ve emekleriyle çıktı....Altmış beş yıllık bir geleneğin yeni bir halkasını oluşturan Türkçe Sözlük'ün bu baskısını konuşmalarıyla, yazılarıyla, eserleriyle Türkçeyi yaşatan, kuşaktan kuşağa aktaran halkımıza armağan olarak sunuyoruz.Türk Dil Kurumunun, yaklaşık seksen yıllık bilgi birikimi ve deneyimi ile oluşturulan sözlük veri tabanını sürekli geliştirerek altmış beş yıldır yayımlamakta olduğu Türkçe Sözlük’ün on birinci baskısı da 2011 yılında çıkmıştır. Her baskısı bir öncekine göre daha da geliştirilen, söz varlığı artırılan Türkçe Sözlük’ün bu baskısındaki madde başı ve içi sözcük sayısı 92.292’ye ulaşmıştır. Bu sayının 77.005’ü madde başı, 15.287’si ise madde içidir. Beş yıl önce yayımlanan onuncu baskıya göre madde başında 13.186, madde içinde 1.698 artış söz konusudur. Yabancı dil sözlüklerinin çoğunda madde başı ve madde içi sözcük sayısı vermek yerine sözcük, deyim, kalıp söz ve anlamdan oluşan söz varlığı sayısı verilmektedir. İlk kez onuncu baskıda söz, terim, deyim, ek ve anlamdan oluşan söz varlığını 104.481 olarak açıklamıştık. On birinci baskının söz, terim, deyim ve anlamdan oluşan söz varlığında ise bir önceki baskıya göre 17.942 artış söz konusudur. Bu sayı hiç de azımsanacak ölçüde değildir. Öncekilere göre Türkçe Sözlük’ün bu baskısı pek çok ilki barındırıyor... İlk kez bu baskı, yazar ve şairlerimizin eserlerinin bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmasıyla oluşturulan derlemden (corpus) yararlanılarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu yolla sözlük veri tabanında bulunmayan sözcükler belirlenmiş ve oluşturulan derlemdeki sözcükler örnekleriyle Türkçe Sözlük’e aktarılmıştır. Sözlük bölümünde bulunmayan, Türkçe ile ilgili bazı genel bilgilere ilk kez bu baskıda yer verilmiştir. Türkçe Sözlük’ün sonunda yer alan bu bölümde Türkçe ile ilgili genel bilgilerden dilekçe yazılışına kadar pek çok bilgi bulunmaktadır. İlk kez bu baskıda alfabemizdeki harfler, kodlarıyla, işitme engelliler için parmak alfabesindeki biçimleriyle yer almıştır. İlk kez bu baskıda Türklerin kullandığı Göktürk, Uygur, Arap yazıları hakkında bilgiler, harflerin özellikleri, biçimleri sıralanmış; Mors alfabesi verilmiştir.İlk kez bu baskıda ek bilgiler bölümünde resmî yazışmalarla ilgili genel kurallar, resmî hitaplar bulunmaktadır. Unvanların önüne gelen eski, sayın, muhterem gibi sözlerinin nerelerde, nasıl kullanılması gerektiği belirtilmektedir. İlk kez bu baskıda resmî yazışma türleri ile resmî elektronik yazışmalar ele alınmakta, bilgilerle birlikte resmî e-posta yazma kuralları üzerinde durulmaktadır.İlk kez bu baskıda yazım ile ilgili temel özellikler Ek Bilgiler bölümünde yer almaktadır. Şapka işaretinin kaldırılmadığı, mutlaka kullanılması gereken yerlerin hangi sözcükler olduğu belirtilmektedir. İlk kez bu baskıda il ve ilçe adlarımız yazılışlarıyla, okunuşlarıyla sözlük bölümünde sıralanmaktadır. Yer adlarının doğru söylenilişi için okunuş bilgilerine de yer verilmektedir. Örneğin Hakkâri’nin ince a ile söylenmesi gerektiği, Zonguldak’ı biçiminde yazılmasına karşın bu adın söylenişinin Zonguldağı biçiminde olduğu belirtilmektedir.İlk kez bu baskıda ülke adları, başkentleri, para birimleri Türkçenin yazım kurallarına göre ek bilgiler bölümünde verilmektedir. Böylece ülke, başkent, para birimi vb. adların yazılışlarında ölçün sağlanmasına katkıda bulunulmaktadır. Ülkelerin haritaları da bu bölümde yer almaktadır.İlk kez bu baskıda Ek Bilgiler bölümünde ulusal ve uluslararası yüzlerce kuruluşun kısaltması Türkçenin kuralına göre ve adların açık biçimleriyle verilmektedir.On birinci baskı Türkçe Sözlük bir önceki baskıya göre 536 sayfa daha artarak 2.800 sayfaya ulaştı. Baskı sayısı 100.000 adet olan sözlük özel üretilmiş dönüşümlü 346 ton kâğıda basıldı.
