Overview: “Adiamindes āksts” aizsāk Aivara Kļavja vēsturisko romānu tetraloģiju “Viņpus vārtiem”, kurā ar latviešu literatūrā līdz šim nebijušu vērienu atainota Latvijas vēsture triju gadsimtu garumā, dažkārt ielūkojoties arī vēl senākā pagātnē. 18. gadsimts. Muižas un zemnieku sētas, sērgas un apgaismība. Caur kariem, juku un pārmaiņu laikiem, atmodām, sakāvēm un atklāsmēm soļo mistiskais Adiamindes (ko šodien saucam par Skulti) Gothards, savā ceļā sastapdams labi zināmas vēsturiskas personības (sākot ar Garlību Merķeli un beidzot ar baronu fon Minhauzenu) un vērodams to, kā viņa acu priekšā atšķetinās noslēpumainākā no dimensijām – laiks... “Un nu beidzot tas brīdis ir klāt... Brīdis, kura dēļ cauri laikam un paaudzēm Gothards ticis sūtīts šurp. Brīdis, kam jāattaisno viņa piedzimšana un jākalpo par galveno argumentu, aizejot no šīs pasaules.” Rakstnieks un žurnālists Aivars Kļavis (1953) literatūrā ienāca 70. gados ar stāstu krājumu Kafejnīcā zagtas karotītes (1976), kurā pirmo reizi latviešu padomju literatūrā bija mēģinājums atveidot jauna cilvēka reālo pasaules skatījumu. Sekoja vairākas līdzīgā intonācijā ieturētas stāstu un aprakstu grāmatas, tostarp īpaši iezīmīgs bija garstāsts Es saucu, lai atsauktos (1982). 1987.–1991. gadā rakstnieks bija žurnāla Avots galvenais redaktors – šis žurnāls spēlēja lielu lomu Atmodas laika intelektuālā klimata veidošanā un kļuva par platformu, kurā debitēja jaunā autoru paaudze. Romānu cikls Viņpus vārtiem, kuram autors veltījis desmit gadus, iezīmē jaunu pavērsienu rakstnieka daiļradē. Par šo romānu ciklu rakstnieks 2012. gadā saņēma Baltijas Asamblejas balvu.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
