Overview: Siyaset Bilimi alanında nitelikli, kapsamlı ve güncel Türkçe giriş kitapları konusunda bir boşluk olduğu ortada. Siyaset Bilimi: Kavramlar, İdeolojiler, Disiplinler Arası İlişkiler, işte bu boşluğu kapatmaya çalışıyor. Büyük çoğunluğu Türkiye ve dünyanın köklü üniversitelerinde bulunan 32 yazarın yazdığı toplam üç kısım ve 37 bölümden oluşuyor. Birinci kısım, "Siyaset Biliminde Temel Kavramlar" başlığını taşıyor. Siyaset, iktidar gibi daha genel nitelikli kavramlardan kimlik ve hegemonya gibi daha özel kavramlara uzanan bu kısımda kitap, siyaset bilimi disiplininin temel kavramsal gereçlerini okuyucuya tanıtıyor. İkinci kısımda yazarlar, temel "Siyasal İdeolojiler"i irdeliyorlar. Liberalizmden İslamcılığa, anarşizmden Marksizme kadar 10 farklı ideolojiyi inceleyen yazarlar, aynı zamanda ideolojinin ve modern siyasal ideolojilerin 18. yüzyıldan bugüne uzanan serüveninin bir bilançosunu çıkarmış oluyorlar. Kitabın "Disiplinler Arası İlişkiler" başlıklı üçüncü ve son kısmındaysa siyaset bilimi ile yakın sosyal bilimsel disiplinlerin ilişkisi tartışılıyor ve siyaset biliminin hem bir sosyal bilim olarak diğer disiplinlerle ortak yönlerine hem de özgül yanlarına vurgu yapılıyor.
