Overview: Charles William Eliot assembled The Harvard Classics in 1909 as a record of the "progress of man…from the earliest historical times to the close of the nineteenth century," He said that it could provide "a good substitute for a liberal education in youth to anyone who would read them with devotion, even if he could spare but fifteen minutes a day for reading." Good, but not quite perfect. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. Not bad at all.
