Overview: حرص الباحث على جمع حوادث الأكثر عددًا، وبأكثر مِن رواية، وممَن اعتقد بصحة الرّوايات التي تناولتهم ضمن هذا السبب.حمل الكتاب في طياته أحد عشر فصلاً؛ جاء الفصل الأول في تاريخ الزَّندقة، وتعريفها، وديوانها، والقائمين عليها، وتناول الفصل الثَّاني الفتوى والمفتين، فالقتل لا يشرع ويُنفذ إلا بفتوى، وتكون الفتوى بمحضر جماعة مِن الفقهاء، أو يصدرها مفتٍ، واحد.أما الفصول الثَّمانيَّة التي تناولت المقتولين فهي: قتلى ادعاء النُّبوة والمقتولين الأوائل، وقد حوى الأكثر مِن المقتولين، قدم فيه المقتولين الأوائل، مِن الشخصيات التي اغتيلت قبل وأثناء فتح مكة -المقتولون مِن أهل الكلام والمفكرين؛ المقتولون مِن أصحاب المناصب والثَّائرين؛ المقتولون مِن الصوفيين وذوي الشأن الدِّيني، ويُقصد بهم ما دون الفقهاء والوعاظ أو علماء الدِّين عمومًا، كالمؤذنين أو خُدام المساجد وغيرها مِن المهن التي تتعلق بالخدمة الدِّينيَّة؛ المقتولون مِن الوعاظ والفقهاء؛ المقتولون مِن الشُّعراء؛ المقتولون مِن غير المحددين بحِرفة أو اتجاه، فهناك العديد مِن الشخصيات مِن الصعب تحديد مهنهم أو وظائفهم، أو حتى اتجاههم الفكري أو السياسيّ، لكنهم تورطوا وطُبقت عليهم إحدى العقوبات القواتل؛ المقتولون جماعيًّا، وهم مَن صدرت فتاوى بقتلهم كجماعة، مثلما حصل مع المطرفيَّة الزَّيديَّة، أو جماعة قتلوا على كثرتهم، مِن غير قتلى المعارك أو الحروب، فالأخيرة لا تدخل في محتويات الكتاب.وأضاف فصلًا، وهو الفصل الحادي عشر، الذي اختص بالنَّاجين مِن القتل، وهم كثيرون أيضا، الذين صدرت بهم فتوى أو قرار قتل، ولكن لسبب مِن الأسباب نجوا مِن السيف أو الرّصاص وحبل المشنقة، بالهروب أو الإعفاء، أو الاختفاء حتَّى الموت، أو موت الذي أصدر الحكم بقتلهم، أفرادًا وجماعات، كنجاة الصابئة مِن القتل بفتوى صريحة صدرت ضدهم، في خلافة القاهر العباسي بين السَّنَة (320322- ه/ 932 – 924 م).

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Will be looking for more from this author.
