Overview: Tonio Krogerby Thomas MannThomas Mann (6 June 1875 – 12 August 1955) was a German novelist. He won the 1929 Nobel Prize in Literature, mainly in recognition of his achievement with the epic Buddenbrooks (1901), The Magic Mountain (Der Zauberberg 1924), and his numerous short stories. Tonio Kröger was originally published in 1903. Tonio Kröger, along with Death in Venice (Der Tod in Venedig) describe his views on art and the artist as an individual.Project Bilingual (A division of Wolf Pup Books) is a continuing project making available great original German writers' texts along with their English translation. A solid read. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Enjoyable weekend read.
