Overview: Syeikh Abdullah Fahim adalah tokoh negarawan merupakan ulama terkenal Tanah Melayu dan mufti pertama Pulau Pinang yang berkhidmat dari 1951 - 1961. Beliau dilahirkan di Kampung Kubur Panjang, Daerah Padang Terap, Kedah pada tahun 1869. Bapa beliau Tuan Haji lbrahim bin Tahir telah membawanya ke Makkah sewaktu usia kanak-kanak lagi. Berdasarkan satu lagi sumber yang menyebutkan beliau dilahirkan di Kampung Sha’ib ‘Ali Kota Makkah al-Mukarramah pada 1870. Syeikh Abdullah Fahim seorang kanak-kanak yang pintar dan begitu meminati sebarang ilmu yang diajarkan kepadanya. Ini dibuktikan dengan kejayaan cemerlang beliau menguasai bukan sahaja ilmu-ilmu agama secara khusus seperti fiqah, tauhid, usuluddin, tafsir al-Qur’an dan sebagainya tetapi ilmuilmu bantu yang lain seperti kesusasteraan Arab, mantiq, ilmu hisab dan ilmu falak. Kesungguhan dan minat yang mendalam beliau terhadap menuntut ilmu dibuktikan oleh anaknya Dato’ Haji Ahmad Badawi, “bapanya telah berguru daripada 42 orang ulamak dan pelbagai bangsa dan bidang samada agama, akademik dan politik”.

I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.
