Overview: Sebanyak 500 lebih prajurit PGT (Pasukan Gerak Tjepat, sekarang korpaskhas TNI AU)diterjunkan di belantara Irian Bara sejak April hingga Agustus 1962. Merka sengaja diterjunkan dari pesawat C-47 Dakota dan C-130 Hercules untuk melaksanakan infiltrasi guna memaksa Belanda secara militer untuk hengkang dari Irian Barat. Infiltrasi ini dilakukan paralel dengan perjuangan diplomasi yang dilakukan oleh diplomat-diplomat Indonesia di forum Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa, dengan tokoh sentral Presiden Soekarno.Keputusan Soekarno untuk menggalang kekuatan Bangsa guna menekan Belanda, disampaikan dalam sebuah rapat akbar di Alun-Alun Yogyakarta pada 19 Desember 1961. lewat pidatonya yang berapi-api, Soekarno menyerukan Tri Komando Rakyat, yang terkenal dengan Trikora. Angkatan Perang Republik Indonesia (APRI) yang mendengarkan pidato ini, setelah itu segera menyiapkan rencana iperasi dengan mengerahkan semua potensi kekuatan yang dimiliki. Demi menghadapi konfrontasi ini pula, APRI mengalami perkembangan pesat dalam hal sistem persenjataan yang kemudian digunakan secara efektif untuk memberikan efek deterrent terhadap Belanda.Mako PGT yang menerima perintah, segera menyiapkan pasukan payung untuk melaksanakan infiltrasi dari udara. Tepatanya 26 April 1962, pasukan pertama PGT diterjunkan di Fak-Fak dan Kaimana. Alhasil sejak hari itu, mereka bertahan dan diburu di belantara Irian Barat yang sangat asing bagi mereka. I liked it for the most part. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. A solid 4 stars from me.

I was pleasantly surprised. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
