Overview: Ziya Yılmaz'ın öyküsü, aslında birazda Türkiye'nin yakın dönem siyasal hayatının öyküsüdür. Memleketi Fatsa'dan başladığı yolculukla pek çok tarihsel olaya şahitlik etmiş, pek çoğuna da birincil dereceden müdahil olmuş bir devrimcinin öyküsüdür.Ziya Yılmaz, hayata gözlerini yumduğu 2011 yılına kadar, bir dönem Türkiye'yi kasıp kavuran olay ve olgulara ilişkin konuşmamayı tercih etti. Saklayacakları olduğu için değil, henüz zamanının gelmediğini düşündüğü ve geçmişin mirasını konuşarak tüketmek istemeyen birisi olduğu için...Peki, Ziya Yılmaz kimdir?Fatsa'da Zeki Şahin'le kurduğu Türkiye İşçi Partisi ilçe teşkilatıyla başladığı siyasal serüveni, kısa bir zaman sonra tüm Karadeniz'i kapsayan, devrimci bir süreç haline geldi. O süreçte sahibi ve sorumlu yönetmeni olarak yayınlanmaya başlayan Yeşil Fatsa isimli yerel gazete bölgenin en çok okunan ve takip edilen yayını oldu. TİP'te çeşitli ayrılıklar baş göstermeden kısa süre önce Karadeniz'de ilk kez gerçekleşen çeşitli köylü yürüyüşleri ve dönemin en kitlesel eylemlerinden olan "Fındık Mitingleri" gibi eylemlerin doğrudan örgütleyicisiydi. 1970'lerin sonunda Fatsa başta olmak üzere Karadeniz'in pek çok bölgesinde atılıma geçen devrimci hareketin temellerini atan insanlardandı; Kızıldere'de katledilen akrabaları, çocukluk arkadaşları ve yoldaşları olan Nihat Yılmaz, Ahmet Atasoy, Ertan Saruhan ile birlikte.Ziya Yılmaz, TİP sonrası dönemde THKP-C'nin kuruluş sürecinde yer aldı, Genel Komite ve Merkez Komite üyesi oldu. Aynı zamanda THKP-C'nin Karadeniz bölge sorumlusu ve örgütün muhasebe sorumluluğu görevlerinde bulundu. Kuruluş sürecinde, THKP-C'nin gerçekleştirdiği banka soygunlarında görev aldı. İsrail Başkonsolosu Ephaim Elrom'un kaçırılması ve öldürülmesi eylemlerinde bulundu. 29 Kasım 1971'de Mahir Çayan, Ulaş Bardakçı, Cihan Alptekin ve Ömer Ayna ile birlikte Maltepe Askeri Cezaevi'nden tünel kazarak firar edenlerden birisiydi. Firar sonrasında, Arnavutköy'de Ulaş Bardakçı'nın öldürüldüğü operasyonla eş zamanlı olarak Fındıkzade'de gerçekleşen operasyonda güvenlik güçleriyle çatışmaya girdi. Bu operasyonda MİT kurucusu Hiram Abas'ı yaralamış ve kendisi de yaralı olarak tutsak alınmıştı.28 Mayıs 1971'de düzenlenen bir operasyonla yakalanan Ziya Yılmaz, yaklaşık 15 yıl sonra, 21 Mart 1986 tarihinde Malatya E Tipi Cezaevi'nden tahliye olmuştu.Tutuklu bulunduğu süre boyunca 3 ayrı davadan hüküm giyen Ziya Yılmaz, farklı tarihlerde 2 kere idam cezasına çarptırılmış, bu idam cezalarından ilki Yargıtay da onanmış ve dosyası infaz onayı için TBMM'ye gönderilmişti. Dosyasının TBMM'de görüşülmek için sıra beklediği günlerde 1974 affının çıkmasıyla, cezası ömür boyu müebbet hapse dönüştürülmüştü.Yılmaz'ın infaz kanununa göre hesaplanan cezasının 13 Ağustos 1983'te dolduğu, yaklaşık 3 yıl fazladan yattığı da tahliye kararına bilgi olarak eklenmişti.Elinizdeki bu kitap, tüm bu gelişmelere ilişkin, Ziya Yılmaz'ın kendi anlatımlarından derlenmiş, Ziya Yılmaz'la ilgili tek kitap olma iddiasını taşıyor. Kronolojik bir hatta derlenmiş çeşitli siyasal olay ve değerlendirmelerin yanı sıra, sürecin baş aktörlerinden olan Mahir Çayan ve Ulaş Bardakçı gibi devrimcilerin insani yönlerini anımsatıyor, aktarıyor.
