Overview: வெண்முரசு மொத்த மகாபாரதத்தையும் மறுபுனைவு செய்து தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் ஜெயமோகனால் எழுதப்பட்ட நவீன தமிழ் நாவல் ஆகும். ஜெயமோகனால் அவரது இணையதளத்தில் 2014ம் ஆண்டு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு, தினமும் ஓர் அத்தியாயம் வீதம் வெளிவந்து 2020 ஜூலையில் நிறைவுற்றது. 26 நூல்களில் 1932 அத்தியாயங்களை உள்ளடக்கியது.இதற்கான அறிவிப்பில் ஜெயமோகன், இந்நாவல் ஐந்நூறு பக்கங்கள் கொண்ட பத்து நாவல்கள் உடையது இது எனச் சொல்லியிருந்தார். அதைப் பத்தாண்டுகள் எழுதுவேன் எனவும் கூறியிருந்தார். ஆனால் நாவல் எழுத ஆரம்பித்த பிறகு மகாபாரதத்தின் விரிவு காரணமாக, நூல் எண்ணிக்கை 26 வரை சென்றது. மொத்த பக்கங்கள் 22,400. இதன்படி வெண்முரசு, உலக இலக்கியத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய நாவல் வரிசை ஆகும்.வியாசரின் மகாபாரதத்தை மட்டும் ஆதாரமாகக் கொள்ளாமல், மகாபாரதக் கதைகளையும் கதை மாந்தர்களையும் வெவ்வேறு விதமாக மொழிந்துள்ள அனைத்துப் புராண, நவீன மற்றும் நாட்டார் பிரதிகளையும் கணக்கில் கொண்டு சொல்வது இது .இந்நாவல் தினந்தோறும் அவரது இணைய தளத்தில் ஒரு நாளின் தொடக்கத்தில் பதிவேற்றப்பட்டது. இந்நாவலுக்கென்றே தனியாக ஓவியத்தை வரைந்தவர் ஓவியர் ஷண்முகவேல் ஆவார். முதல் நாவலான முதற்கனல், மொத்த கதையோட்டத்திற்கான ஒரு முன்வரைவை அளித்து தொடங்குகிறது. ஆஸ்திகன் என்ற முனிமைந்தன் தன் அன்னையிடம் கதை கேட்பதாக தொடங்கும் நாவல், ஜனமேஜயனின் வேள்வியை இடைமறித்து வியாசரை வரவழைத்து தீர்வு கேட்பதிலிருந்து மைய கதையோட்டத்தை வந்தடைகிறது. வியாசர் தன் ‘ஜய’ எனும் காப்பியத்தை அவையில் அரங்கேற்றுகிறார். அஸ்தினபுரியின், குரு வம்சத்தின் கதையாக வளரும் இன்னொரு கதைச்சரடு, பீஷ்மரை வெல்லமுடியாத அம்பையின் அனல் சிகண்டியாக உருமாறி பீஷ்மரிடமே இறுதியில் வரும் இடத்தில் முடிகிறது.மழைப்பாடல், அம்பிகை அம்பாலிகை சத்யவதி ஆகியோரின் கதாப்பாத்திரச் சித்தரிப்பை விரிவாக நிகழ்த்திச் செல்லும் இப்பெருநாவல், அவர் மைந்தரான திருதராஷ்டிரன் பாண்டு ஆகியோரின் இளமை பருவங்களையும் அவர்களின் சுயம்வரங்களையும் விரிவான பண்பாட்டு வரலாற்று சித்தரிப்புடன் வரைகிறது. பாண்டவர் பிறப்பிற்கு பின் இறுதியில் விளக்கமுடியாத கவித்துவச் சித்தரிப்புடன் முடியும் இந்நாவல், மகாபாரதத்தை, ஆடி தொடங்குபவர்களான குந்தி, சகுனி, விதுரர் ஆகியோரின் விழைவுகளையும் நெய்தெடுப்பது[21].வண்ணக்கடல், சங்க பாணனாகிய இளநாகன் பாரத நிலத்தில் ஒரு முனையில் தொடங்கி மறுமுனை வரும்வரை, குரு வம்சத்தின் கதைகளை கேட்டு அறிந்து வருவதாய் உள்ளது ஒரு சரடென்றால் பிறிதொன்று பாண்டவகௌரவர்களின் இளமையை தொட்டுசெல்வது. துரோணர், பரசுராமர், ஏகலைவன், துரியோதனன் போன்ற கதாப்பாத்திரங்கள் எழுந்து வருவதோடு கர்ணனின் ஒளிமிக்க சித்திரத்தையும் இந்நாவல் காட்டுகிறது. குலக்கதைகள், நிலச்சித்தரிப்புகள், திருவிழாக்கள், இந்திய ஞான மரபுகள் என இதன் வண்ணங்கள் முடிவிலாதவை.நீலம், தனியொரு கவித்துவமும் பித்தும் கலக்கும் மொழியில் கண்ணனின் பிறப்பையும் கல்விக்கு முந்தைய இளமை வாழ்வையும் சொல்லும் தனி நாவல். ராதையில் பிரேமையாகவும் கம்சனில் பகையாகவும் கண்ணன் வெளிப்படுகிறான். வெண்முரசு வரிசையில் இதுவே பக்க அளவில் சிறியது.பிரயாகை, திரௌபதியின் பிறப்பு வளர்ச்சி சுயம்வரத்தையும் சித்தரிக்கும் இந்நாவலின் ஒரு சரடு, ஒருங்கே கிருஷ்ணனின் அரசியல் தொடக்கத்தையும் முதற்போரையும் துவாரகை அமையும் விதத்தையும் கூறிச் செல்கிறது.வெண்முகில் நகரம், இந்திரபிரஸ்தம் அமைந்த வழிகளை தொடர்ந்து செல்லும் கதை. திரௌபதியின் திருமணத்திற்கு பின் பாண்டவர்கள் தங்களுக்கென அமைக்க விரும்பும் ஒரு நகரத்தின் வழியே அவர்களின் உள ஆழங்களை சித்தரிக்கிறது இந்நாவல். பூரிசிரவஸ் , சாத்யகி ஆகியோர் இதன் மையக்கதபாத்திரங்கள். அரசியலும் அதற்கு அப்பால் மனிதர்களும் என செல்லும் கதை.இந்திரநீலம், துவாரகை அமைந்த பிறகு, கிருஷ்ணனுக்கு தன் எட்டு மனைவியருடன் அமைந்த காதலை சொல்லும் கதை. இந்திரநீலம் என்பது சியமந்தக மணி எனும் அருமணி.அது கதை மாந்தர்களிடையே உண்டாக்கும் மாற்றத்தையும் அதற்கேற்ப ஒவ்வொருவரும் மாறும் சித்தரிப்பையும் இந்நாவல் வழங்குகிறது. அனைத்திற்கும் மையமாக இருப்பது கிருஷ்ணன். அரசியல் உதவி கேட்டுவரும் திருஷ்டதுய்மனின் பார்வையில் கதை செல்கிறது.எட்டாவது நூலாகிய காண்டீபம், இந்திரபிரஸ்தத்திலிருந்து அர்ஜுனன் கிளம்பிச் செல்லும் பயணம். அந்த பயணத்தினூடே பிற மனைவியரையும் உறவுகளையும் கண்டடைகிறான். கிருஷ்ணனின் உறவாக அறிமுகமாகும் அரிஷ்டநேமியின் குணச்சித்திரம், அர்ஜுனின் சாகசங்கள், சுபத்திரையின் வரவு என விரிவடைகிறது.வெய்யோன், கர்ணனின் இளமை நினைவுகள், உறவுகள், இந்திரபிரஸ்தம் அமைந்த பிறகான மனது என செல்கிறது. கதை தொடங்கும்போதே துரியோதனனால் நாடளிக்கப்பட்ட சூதர் பாடும் அங்க தேசத்து மன்னனாகத்தான் இருக்கிறான். அவன் அன்னையுடனான உறவின் ஆழங்களும், காண்டவ வனத்தை அர்ஜுனனும் கிருஷ்ணனும் அழித்து இந்திரபிரஸ்தம் அமைந்த விதமும், ஜராசந்தன் போன்ற பிற அரசர்களும் அறிமுகமகுவது போன்ற கலவையான மொழிபுகளும் ஓட்டமும் அமைந்த கதை.பத்தாம் நாவலான பன்னிரு படைக்களம், நகர் அமைந்து பாண்டவர் ராஜசூயம் வேட்டு செய்யும் வேள்வியும், அதன் காரணமாக எதிராக அமையும் அரசியல் காரணங்களும், திரௌபதி பாண்டவரின் அஸ்தினபுரியின் வருகையும் நாற்கள ஆடலும் சித்தரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஜராசந்தன் சிசுபாலன் ஆகியோரின் கொலைக்குப் பிறகு உக்கிரமாக உருமாறும் துரியோதனின் சித்திரத்தையும் அளிக்கிறது. இதுவரையிலான மொத்த கதையோட்டதிற்கும் ஒரு திருப்பம் போல அமைந்த நாவல்.பதினோராம் நாவலான சொல்வளர்காடு, நாடிழந்து வனவாசம் செல்லும் பாண்டவரின் கதையின் தொடக்கத்தை கூறுகிறது. ஒவ்வொரு வேதகால கல்விநிலைகள் வழியாக அதன் தத்துவங்களை கடந்து செல்லும் ஒரு பயணமாக அமையும் நாவல். கிருஷ்ணனின் குணசித்திரத்தின் முதல் மாறுதலையும், முதன்மையாக யுதிஷ்டிரன் அடையும் உச்சத்தையும் சொல்லும் நாவல்.கிராதம், பன்னிரண்டாவது நாவல் இவ்வரிசையில். மீண்டும் கிளம்பிச் செல்லும் அர்ஜுனின் வேறொரு பயணம். இருண...
