Overview: Bolzano, fine degli anni Trenta. Con l’avvento del fascismo la popolazione di lingua tedesca del Sudtirolo subisce continui tentativi di italianizzazione forzata. Le scuole di lingua tedesca vengono soppresse, la stampa germanofona viene censurata, i nomi e i cognomi delle persone italianizzati. I Mumelter, antica famiglia bolzanina orgogliosamente tirolese, vive uno dei momenti più difficili della propria storia, sentendosi privata delle radici e dell’identità. Such a great read. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

An average read for me. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.
