Overview: Note, This is NOT a PC story. Governor Brown agreed to follow the Supreme Courts ruling, he 'bought' enough Senators to ensure it passed and enough money to buy any states on the fence. While he prepared for secession, President Trump prepared to squeeze California so they regretted their move. Governor Brown wrote a list of executive orders he planned to issue as soon as the secession went through. These included every progressive dream from making Hate speech illegal and outlawing private ownership of all handguns. He also planned to outlaw bows and crossbows. He also planned to outlaw to all internal combinson engines, turning most of the cars in the state illegal. The Governor borrowed the money he needed allowing him to secede. He began the movement to The People's Republic which would become a reality on January first. Meanwhile, Trump ordered a complete blockade of the breakaway nation, even if it meant going to war with China. America's military was on DEFCON 2, even her nuclear missiles were made ready to fire.

A very satisfying read. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. A solid 5/5 for me.

Finished it in a couple of days. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

I liked it for the most part. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Still a good book.
