Overview: Lainswich has its tricentennial coming up soon. That’s three-hundred years of existence for the insular, idyllic little town. It’s got the whole town busy, including Rowen’s family. Her aunts are turning their little New Age shop into a museum of sorts for the occasion. Her cousins are busy with the family newspaper. There’s no shortage of things to do and precious little time to spare… Which, of course means something extremely time consuming is about to happen. When local dentist Edward Waite is found murdered, the police immediately seek help from Rowen. The deceased was shot execution style and, not only that, the crime scene makes it look like a sinister ritual has taken place. It’s only a matter of time before Lainswich starts to suspect their resident witching family, the Greensmiths. Rowen wants no part in the investigation, but she might not have a choice. Trouble has a way of finding her. This time, trouble has taken the form of what appears to be a super creepy cult. Rowen has never had to deal with a cult before, but there’s a first time for everything. Fourteenth Volume of the Lainswich Witches Mystery Series. Approx. 50,000 words in length. Good, but not quite perfect. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. A solid 4 stars from me.

I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The writing was fine, but I didn't feel very connected to the characters. They felt a bit flat. It's fine if you have nothing else to read.

Pretty good overall. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Good, but not quite perfect. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. Still a good book.
