Overview: Once upon a time, there was a little version of you. A perfect little you who chased big dreams, believed in fairytales and wanted a life filled with fun and adventure. Barefoot and laughing, bursting with anticipation, that child had a mind like an open book made of blank pages. The book of your life was waiting to be filled with colorful stories and effervescent experiences. Isn’t that how all of our lives begin? Before too long, that book gets pushed aside and pushed aside, until it’s virtually been forgotten about, with its pages crumpled and torn. Perhaps it took years for that book to become a distant memory. Maybe one violently unhappy chapter in your younger life stole that book out of your little hands and tarnished it so badly that you don’t dare open the cover to look into it again.Before you know it, life enveloped you like quicksand and here you are today – entrenched in an existence that you didn’t choose for yourself. Or at least, you don’t want to admit that you chose. Life grabbed you by the bits and has you feeling crappy and truly stuck. Being stuck SUCKS! That was originally going to be in the title of this book. But actually, helping people find a solution was my goal of writing it, not to point out the obvious. But I will say it again, being stuck DOES SUCK.Maybe you’re stuck in a relationship that’s not feeding your soul or stuck in a job that brings you nothing but stress and boredom. Perhaps your business has been slowly sucking all your time and energy away from you while not paying you an income that you so rightly deserve. Or maybe you’re in some warped version of Groundhog Day where the best part of your day is binge-watching Netflix while stuffing down a liter of Haagen-Dazs. Sound familiar? Then you, my friend, are completely STUCK. There’s nothing cool about living a mediocre life. There’s nothing rewarding about simply surviving. And I guarantee you that there’s not a soul on this earth who wished he or she had watched more television or worked an extra shift when they’re on their deathbed. The sad truth is – few of us actually do any more than just exist in this lifetime. We get by.We simply do what we can to get through each day.And perhaps even more frighteningly, we often live our lives based on what other people tell us we’re supposed to be doing!Seriously?? Can’t we do better than ‘getting by?’ Can’t we live a life that we leap out of bed each morning feeling enthused, challenged and invigorated? Often if not always?Oh, I hear what you’re thinking: ‘but I can’t just do whatever I want. I have kids, I have responsibilities, I’m in debt up to my eyeballs.’The list of ‘I can’t’, ‘I shouldn’t’ and ‘I don’t know’s’ are coursing through your brain like a freight train right about now. As a life coach and mentor for many years now, I can tell you that I have heard them all.
