Overview: Toni Zweifel, nel 1961, era un brillante studente del Politecnico di Zurigo, con obiettivi certamente buoni, ma meramente temporali: il successo professionale e l’affetto di una ragazza. Nello stesso anno, su invito di don Ferdinando Rancan, che conosceva dai tempi della sua giovinezza, partecipò a un ritiro spirituale, in cui scoprì che per essere un cristiano autentico doveva interessarsi al benessere umano e spirituale degli altri. Ritornò a Zurigo con il fermo proposito di cambiare radicalmente la sua vita. Cominciò a praticare di nuovo la fede e il 19 marzo 1962 chiese l’ammissione all’Opus Dei come membro numerario, perciò impegnato nel celibato. Con questo passo dava interamente il suo cuore al Signore. Da allora, imparò «a trasformare in endecasillabi la prosa quotidiana», come diceva san Josemaría Escrivá. Trasformò il suo lavoro di ingegnere in occasione di incontro con Dio e di servizio agli altri. Fondò e sviluppò la Fondazione Limmat, tutt’ora attiva, che durante la vita di Toni sostenne centinaia di iniziative sociali ed educative in più di trenta Paesi. Sopportò eroicamente la leucemia che lo colpì per tre dolorosi anni e lo portò alla morte il 24 novembre 1989, in fama di santità. Dal 2001, nella diocesi di Coira, è in corso il processo di beatificazione.

An average read for me. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.
