Although we are not informed who wrote this epistle, its message leaves beyond doubt who received it. The reference to the parents, the tabernacle and the day of atonement confirms the title we know. There must be a reason for the exclusion of the author's name, but it should not be a reason for contention. The two themes of the Epistle are the priesthood of Christ and his sacrifice. The Epistle lends itself to interesting • Chapters 1 to 6 the incomplete and the complete; • Chapters 7 to 10 the temporal and the eternal; • Chapters 11 to 13 the earthly and the heavenly. As a “ word of exhortation ” , 13:22, his message is let's go ahead in 6.1, let's get closer in 6.22 and leave in 13.13; there is progress, rapprochement and association. There are several parentheses in the Epistle, and in them the writer wishes to test the reader as to his faith, to see if he is a Christian or not. The main brackets are from 3.1 to 4.5; 5.11 to 6.20; 10.23 to 29. In those early times there were Jews who were attracted to Christ and Christianity, but it was only an extension of their Jewish beliefs and practices. They were not established in the once-forever character of Christ's sacrifice, nor the fulfillment of Old Testament types (figures), nor many other matters. Therefore, this epistle does not address the possibility of a weakening of the Christian's faith, or the Christian's return to the world. Rather, the possibility is contemplated that a Jew, once attracted to Christ and Christianity, will return to those times, and thus deny their fulfillment in Christ. Such an initiative would involve a renunciation of Christ and his sacrifice. Many readers of the Epistle would have been saved from great pain of heart to have understood this. Son of you may fail with Christ, but He will never give you up. Your faith may weaken, but you never lose it. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
