Overview: Francis Thompson Complete Works - Delphi Poets Series was published by Delphi Classics in January 2021. It is a comprehensive collection of Thompson's known works, commentaries, and life sketches including a synopsis of his life entitled, Brief Francis Thompson by Carroll B. Chilton; The Complete Poetical Works of Francis Thompson; The Prose Works of Francis Thompson; and a biography entitled, "The Life of Francis Thompson" by Everard Meynell (1913). Delphi Classics has arranged his poetical works in volumes as they were originally published during Thompson's life which include Poems on Children, Sister Songs, Love in Dian's Lap, and The Hound of Heaven to name a few. In addition, prose, mainly essays, by Thompson is included in the collection, much of which was published after the poet's death. Many of his essays discuss the lives and works of other authors such as Shelley, Coleridge, Milton, and Dante. Regarding Thompson's essays, Mr. Wilfrid Meynell, who could be considered Thompson's benefactor for many years, stated in the preface "If Francis Thompson’s concern for the Prose of Poets is the Reader’s too, this volume carries its own proper passport on its title-page. Of this Poet’s prose, his Shelley Essay stands first among even his own writings. Yet the same ease with which he turns one of its passages of imagery into verse for An Anthem, of Earth is equally evident in the case of other essays and other a sign of a general closer kinship than is common between the less and the more imaginative modes of expression."

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Will be looking for more from this author.

Such a great read. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Will be looking for more from this author.

Such a great read. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Would probably read it again at some point.
