Overview: "Gøgl, charlataneri og ulyd!" - hed det bl.a. om den ny kompositionsmusik i 60'erne, hvor holdninger, normer og levevilkår forandredes med større hast og radikalitet end før set - ikke mindst i de kunstneriske miljøer i Danmark. Bølgerne i den kulturelle debat gik ofte højt. Perioden fra 1955 til 1965 var en tid, hvor velfærdssamfundet blev til, men også en tid der bragte afgørende forandringer i det danske ny-musik-miljø. Det var her, den internationale modernismes bølger - noget sent, men ubønhørligt - brød igennem de ellers velbefæstede danske diger og forårsagede anfægtelse, debat og kampgny.Nye Toner i Danmark handler i meget høj grad om de tre komponister Ib Nørholm, Per Nørgård og Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, som nu i et halvt århundrede har stået som den ny danske musiks frontfigurer. I 60'erne var det netop i og omkring deres virksomhed, at de nye ting fik betydning. Alle de andre der skrev nyorienteret musik i 60'erne er dog også med, og der bringes værkbeskrivelser af langt de fleste nyorienterede musikværker fra tiden.Nye Toner i Danmark ser også nærmere på generelle nye trends i kunsten såsom attituderelativisme, konkretisme og systemkunst og skildrer de ofte ophidsede debatter omkring Fluxus, Statens Kunstfond og Radioens musikpolitik.

Really enjoyed this one. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.
