Overview: Sermet Muhtar Alus, yazdığı bini aşkın yazıyla okurlarına hep bir şehrin, genellikle de 19. yüzyıl sonlarıyla 20. yüzyıl başları arasındaki döneminin hayatını anlatmış bir yazardır; sık kullandığı tabirle “eski İstanbul”un yazarı. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. A solid 5/5 for me.
