Nemmeno ventiquattr’ore e tutti sanno di chi si tratta: Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, editore geniale, estremista che dopo la strage di Piazza Fontana ha scelto la clandestinità, ma anche una delle persone più ricche d’Italia. Attraverso documenti e testimonianze, molte delle quali inedite, Aldo Grandi ricostruisce con passione una storia tragica e indimenticabile, tenendo sempre sullo sfondo l’Italia di quegli anni. Gli ultimi giorni di Feltrinelli sono il momento in cui la lotta armata arriva al suo punto di non ritorno. Il 3 marzo 1972 le Br compiono il loro primo sequestro, il dirigente della Sit Siemens Idalgo Macchiarini; l’11 marzo la città di Milano è messa a ferro e fuoco dagli scontri tra manifestanti e forze dell’ordine. Il tappo è saltato, l’insurrezione sembra imminente. È in quel frangente che Feltrinelli sente l’urgenza e la responsabilità di entrare in azione. È arrivato il suo momento, serve un gesto esemplare, il blackout di un’intera città. Finirà come lui stesso aveva profetizzato: “Se un giorno troverete il cadavere di un uomo nudo, quel cadavere è il mio”.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Some parts were interesting, while others were a bit of a slog to get through. Probably won't read it again, but it was an okay way to pass the time.

A very satisfying read. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Glad I picked this up.
