Overview: “…Balkan Savaşları sonrasında Doğu Trakya hariç Osmanlı Devleti’nin Rumeli’deki toprakları Bulgaristan, Sırbistan, Karadağ, Yunanistan ve Romanya tarafından paylaşılmıştır… Yunanistan, Epir Bölgesi’ni ve Ege Makedonya’sını topraklarına katmıştır. Yunanistan sınırları içine yeni katılan topraklardaki köy ve kasabaların, dağ, akarsu ve göllerin coğrafi adlarının da büyük çoğunluğu Yunanca değildi.Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun bağrından çıkan Türkiye dahil tüm Balkan ülkeleri gibi Yunanistan da çağın ulusçuluk anlayışı gereği 10 Ekim 1919 yılında yayımladığı bir genelge ile Yunanca olmayan yer adlarının Yunanca ile değiştirilmesine karar verdi… Yer adları ile ilgili kapsamlı değişiklik, Türk-Yunan nüfus mübadelesinin büyük ölçüde gerçekleştirilmesinden sonra özellikle 1926 yılında gerçekleştirildi.1999 yılında meydana gelen deprem felaketlerinin hemen ertesinde ortaya çıkan bir girişim sonucu kurulan Lozan Mübadilleri Vakfı (LMV)’na Türkiye’nin dört bir yanından yapılan başvuruların büyük çoğunluğu mübadele öncesi yaşanan yerleşim yerlerinin değiştirilen yeni adlarının ne olduğu ile ilgiliydi. Lozan Mübadilleri Vakfı’na gelen bu talepler bizleri bu konuda araştırma yapmaya sevk etti.Çalışmamızın kapsamına giren mübadele bölgelerindeki 3739 yerleşim yerinden 2914’ünün adlarının değiştirildiğini saptadık. Bir başka deyişle mübadele kapsamına giren mevcut yerleşim yerlerinin %78’inin adları değiştirilmiştir.Çalışmada bu günkü Yunanistan idari örgütlenmesi esas alınmıştır. Çalışma alanımıza giren 19 il (Nomos) için ayrı bir il haritası yapılmış, yerleşim yerlerinin eski ve yeni adları haritalarda birlikte gösterilmiştir. Her il haritasının başına eski ve yeni adların fihristleri konulmuştur. I have mixed feelings about this one. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. A generous 3 stars.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
